Br. Eugene (Francis) Weinheimer of the Blessed Sacrament was born February 14, 1930, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to parents Frederick and Mary (nee Crowe) Weinheimer. In 1948, Frank requested permission to join the order in Brookline, Massachusetts and was professed there. He then left the order and served in the United States Air Force for four years. His tour of duty was up in March of 1957 when he asked the provincial for permission to return. While preparing to re-enter in 1957, Frank’s mother suffered a heart attack. Faithful to his mother and family, he delayed his entrance until 1958. On August 6, 1958 he was again clothed in the Carmelite habit. He made his simple profession on August 7, 1960 and his solemn profession on August 7, 1963.
In later years, Br. Eugene suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. He entered eternal life on July 12, 1982, and is buried at the Carmelite Cemetery in Hubertus, Wisconsin.
