Fr. Clement (Francis) Stopka of the Blessed Virgin Mary was born on October 17, 1918, in Lilly, Pennsylvania to parents Mathias and Mary (nee Urbaniak) Stopka. In March 1942, On September 26, 1939, he was clothed in the Carmelite habit at Holy Hill, Wisconsin. There he also made his simple profession on September 27, 1940. He made his solemn profession on September 27, 1943, in Washington, DC and was ordained to the priesthood on May, 22, 1945 by a Washington, DC bishop.

Fr. Clement died on July 28, 1980 at the age of 61 and is buried at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Melcroft, Pennsylvania.
