Fr. Clement (Francis) Stopka of the Blessed Virgin Mary was born on October 17, 1918, in Lilly, Pennsylvania to parents Mathias and Mary (nee Urbaniak) Stopka. On September 26, 1939, he was clothed in the Carmelite habit at Holy Hill, Wisconsin. There he also made his simple profession on September 27, 1940. He made his solemn profession on September 27, 1943, in Washington, DC and was ordained to the priesthood on May 22, 1945, by a Washington, DC bishop.

Fr. Clement died on July 28, 1980, at the age of 61 and is buried at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Melcroft, Pennsylvania.
