Fr. Regis (Leonard) Jordan of the Sorrowful Mother was the beloved son of the late Leonard Edward and Margaret Theresa (nee Smith) Jordan; brother of the late Kenneth Jordan and his wife, the late Mary Bridget (nee Gill) Jordan; uncle of Catherine Margaret McLaughlin and her husband Timothy McLaughlin, and Diane Mary Boyle and her husband Timothy Boyle; great-uncle of Aidan, Eoin and Niamh McLaughlin, and Brendan, Declan and Cooper Boyle. Also survived by his religious brothers, the Discalced Carmelite Friars. Fr. Regis was born on March 25, 1936; professed as a Discalced Carmelite Friar on August 15, 1957, and was ordained a Catholic Priest on June 6, 1964. Among his priestly ministries, Father served as Provincial Counselor, Vocation Director and House Treasurer at Holy Hill, Hubertus, Wisconsin. He also served as Superior in Hinton, West Virginia and was involved with the Institute for Carmelite Studies and ICS Publications. In later years, he devoted his time to the archives of the province as Provincial Archivist. Fr. Regis passed away peacefully at Montgomery Hospice, Casey House, Rockville, Maryland on June 14, 2022, at the age of 81 and is buried at the Carmelite Cemetery in Hubertus, Wisconsin.
