Fr. Sebastian (Victor) Ramge of the Holy Face was born on May 21, 1930, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Victor and Ottilia (nee Hausler) Ramge. He attended the Minor Seminary of Our Lady at Holy Hill, Wisconsin, was clothed in the Carmelite habit on August 14, 1948, made his simple profession on August 22, 1949, and was ordained to the priesthood on December 22, 1956.
In 1963, Father received a Master of Arts Degree in Education. His education and experiences took him to ministries both at home in the United States and abroad - to Israel and for a time, Austria. A greater portion of his life’s work was devoted to ministry in Altoona, Pennsylvania: as pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Calvary at Rockview, in campus ministry for the students at Penn State University and ministry with the Sisters of the Carmel of St. Therese of Lisieux in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
Fr. Sebastian died on February 23, 1983, and is buried at the Carmelite Cemetery in Hubertus, Wisconsin.
