Br. Paul O’Connell of the Holy Rosary was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on November 9, 1912, the son of Timothy and Annie (nee Lally) O’Connell. He answered the call to a religious life later in life, making his first profession as a Discalced Carmelite Friar on February 2, 1974, at the age of 61. A newsletter recalls Br. Paul’s work in the community, especially his days at Brookline in Massachusetts. At his funeral Mass, it was recalled how Brother would meet arriving visitors at Logan Airport or South Station. It was hoped that Brother is now waiting to welcome other friars Home. Brother Paul died on February 12, 1992, and is buried at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Hudson, New Hampshire.
