Br. Antonine was born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania on September 19, 1928, to parents Vincenzo and Eufemia (nee Cusatis) DiSabella. He joined the Discalced Carmelite Friars in 1946 and made his First Procession as a Carmelite Brother on May 10, 1949, and his solemn profession in 1952. Br. Antonine lived at the Carmelite Monastery in Washington, DC, for more than 50 years, where he was the community cook during all those years. Br. Antonine took care of the needs of the members of the community, as well as those of the countless people who came to the monastery over the years looking for food. His greatest joy was to feed friends and family, community and those in need. His devotion to St. Therese of Lisieux was well known and sustained him during his many years of service to others and during his illness.
Br. Antonine entered eternal life on September 13, 2009, and is buried at the Carmelite Cemetery, in Hubertus, Wisconsin.
